Our roots in serving professional law enforcement
To tell the story of Vanquest and our connection to the tactical and professional community, we must go back to the brand’s founding in 2011. A team of gear designers, outdoor enthusiasts, and former founding members of Max pedition came together to launch Vanquest with one mission: build the toughest bags andpacks for everyday carry (EDC), helping users stay organized and prepared. Since2011, we've remained committed to delivering mission-ready gear for professional LE and military clients.
From the beginning, we focused on delivering mission-ready gear for professional users and federal agencies. Over the years, we've maintained close collaborations with state and federal agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, DEA, FBI,and the U.S.Secret Service, whose field feedback continues to shape our designs.
Vanquest uses durable military-grade materials, low-profile MOLLE capability, and trusted suppliers such as Cordura®, YKK®, and Duraflex®/ITW®. As earlyadopters of U.S.-made MultiCam®Black Cordura® in 2014, we reinforced ourcommitment to professional-grade performance. Today, let’s take a closer look atthe tactical features and mission-driven design behind our packs.
Military - grade materials and mission - driven design in tactical backpacks.
Tactical backpacks must withstand frequent use in harsh conditions. Common features are: military-grade materials, load-bearing ergonomics, reinforced construction, and low-profile MOLLE compatibility for modular expansion.Together, these features deliver reliable performance under pressure.
Our tactical backpacks are constructed from durable, water-resistant Cordura®nylon-66 fabric paired with genuine YKK® zippers for proven abrasion resistance.Equally important are buckles and hardware, which is why we rely on Duraflex®and ITW® components known for decades of field-proven reliability. These materials represent the gold standard in professional-grade packs.
Ergonomics is critical for sustained operations. For example, the MARKHOR-45 backpack, our most advanced expedition-capable backpack, features an adjustable shoulder yoke for torso fit, padded waist belt, internal frame support, and ventilated mesh back panel for airflow. The result is load-bearing comfort that keeps you focused on the mission rather than the weight on your back.
For modularity, we integrate low-profile MOLLE-compatible webbing for attaching organizers & pouches, medical & first aid kits, bottle holders, and other MOLLE accessories. Internally, our packs feature high-visibility looplining for attaching hook-and-loop accessories and organizers, allowing full customization for any loadout
Hydration carry and CCW compatibility for tactical preparedness
Staying hydrated is crucial for our professional and outdoor users. Our larger packs and backpacks are designed to fit water bottles and bladders, ensuring thatyou remain refreshed and energized throughout your adventures.
For instance, many of our backpacks and messenger bags feature an expandable side pocket for bottles or a compartment for a water bladder. Our popular TRIDENT-21 and TRIDENT-32 backpacks give you both options for hydration carry flexibility.
Regarding CCW compatibility, our law enforcement, military and CCW users candiscreetly carry off-body. Some of our most sought-after packs, such as the KATARA-16,JAVELIN-18slingbackpack, and TRIDENT-32 backpacks, are all equipped with loop-lined compartments forhook and loop/CCWaccessories.Moreover, the larger MARKHOR-45 backpackcan also carry a rifle or bowexternally, making them ideal for hunters.
Lastly, the low-profile RACKIT-36 covert rifle pack stands out as a top choice forour protective detail clients. Designed for discreet carry, the RACKIT-36 can accommodate a rifle/carbine along with first aid kits or other hook & loop accessories
Choosing the right (size) backpack for EDC, hiking, or expedition use
Depending on your adventure, whether everyday carry (EDC), hiking, bushcraft, camping, or hunting, youneed a backpack with the right capacity, intelligent organization, and a load-bearing suspension system for better comfort.
For day trips and short hikes, the KATARA-16 sling backpackis the ultimate convertible sling backpack. Itdelivers versatile performance in a compact 16-liter platform. It organizes hiking essentials efficiently, supports hydration bladder carry, and converts from a traditional backpack to a single-shoulder sling foradaptable mobility in dynamic environments.
For everyday carry (EDC), the TRIDENT-21and the larger TRIDENT-32 backpacks provide ample space and modular organization for your everyday essentials. Apadded body protects valuables, while padded dividers allow customized loadouts. Externally, breathable mesh back panels, ergonomic shoulder straps, and a supportive waist belt delivers all-day comfort.
For bushcraft, camping, or multi-day expeditions, the IBEX-35 and MARKHOR-45 backpacks offer spacious capacity for essential gear. Both feature adjustable shoulder harness systems, padded waist belts, load-bearing ergonomic frames, and ventilated back panels, ensuring stabile and comfortable carry even overlong distances.
Strategic access styles for mission - critical loadout efficiency
Tactical backpacksare designed with different access styles to improve organization, load out efficiency, and fast gear access. Each style offers unique advantages and accessibility options. Here are some examples:
Top and side access: In many situations, top access aloneisn’t sufficient, especially when retrieving items stored at the bottom of your pack. That’s why our classic TRIDENT-21,TRIDENT-32, and JAVELIN-18 backpacks feature both topand side access. Our signature S-curve zipper design provides unobstructed, secure side access whether the pack is worn or set down, allowing faster accessto essential gear.
Front clamshell access: Models such as the MARKHOR-45andIBEX-35 backpacks feature a front clamshell-style opening for full-panel visibility when packing or organizing your loadout. Strategically positioned zippers allow targeted access to specific compartments without unloading the entire bag. This design is ideal for users who prefer complete visibility and efficient gear management during operations or travel.
